The Department of Geotechnical Engineering in the Civil Engineering branch is an active department with faculty members involved both in the academic as well as outside world. This department is involved in many consultancy assignments for various Government, quasi government and private organizations. The works include design of conventional and machine foundations, Design of pavements, Stability analysis of retaining structures, Ground Improvement Techniques and Third party consultancy assignments. In the course of the consultancy assignments, the students are actively involved in the projects as a part of field visit which gives them field exposure and practical training. The total strength of M.E Programme is 15 Students in the Ist year and 17 Students in IInd Year. The division provides, undeniably, the best experimental facility through Soil Mechanics Laboratory, Highway Laboratory, Geotechnical Engineering Laboratory, Geo – Environmental Engineering Laboratory, Geology Laboratory and a Computer laboratory
