FAQ

1) How do we get here?

The College was started in the year 1945 and shifted to present location in the year 1950. Partial Autonomy (PG Courses : Civil and Mechanical) was obtained in the year 1981 and in the year 1987 full autonomy (for all courses) was granted. The UGC Review Committee visited the college in July10th, 1996. University Review Committee visited the college and recommended the continuation of autonomy in the year 1997. The University standing committee visited GCT on February 2nd, 1998.

2) How do I apply for new transcripts, degree certificates etc?

This procedure applies to all service requests for which fee structure is listed under the “Fee Structure” section.

Ø  Obtain Approval Letter - The student shall apply for the service (issue of Rank certificate etc) by submitting a Requisition letter duly attested by the Head of the Department to the Office of the Controller of Examination

Ø  Fill the Appropriate Application Forms – Use the appropriate form from the Downloads section

Ø  Pay Prescribed Fee and receive Chalan – Identify the fees amount to be paid (see Fee Structure) for the service requested. Pay the fees at the SBI, GCT Branch, Coimbatore and obtain the fee payment Chalan

Ø  Submit the Approval Letter (1), Filled Application Form (2), and the Chalan (3) to the Office of the Controller of Examination.

3) How long does it take to process?

Ø  5 Academic working days from the date of submission.

4) What does One-set mean?

Ø  One-set consists of 5 copies.

5) How do I know the status of the request?

Ø  Obtain a status of the request by calling the Controller of Exam office at –

6) What are the delivery Options available?

Ø  The documents can be picked up in person or by an authorized member of the family

Ø  If you require the documents to be mailed, you must submit a self addressed, stamped envelope with delivery confirmation along with the request
