COMPUTING FACILITIES

The department is equipped with a total of 134 computers, distributed across various laboratories. To support practical coursework, relevant open-source software has been consolidated on the CSE department server, allowing students to access these tools remotely via FTP.

We provide robust internet connectivity with 1 Gbps through NKN, 8 Mbps via leased line, and 10 Mbps VPNOBB (VPN over broadband) connectivity, all running on a single fiber connection under NMEICT, offering a total bandwidth of 118 Mbps for research and project work.

The Department of Information Technology was established in 2001 with the aim of fostering academic excellence, where new ideas, research, and scholarship thrive to drive innovations in the IT industry. Information Technology is one of the most rapidly growing programs at GCT. The four-year undergraduate program in Information Technology is designed to equip students with a strong foundation in both basic and advanced courses, reflecting the latest technological advancements.
