The Production Engineering students Association (PEA) is having a dedicated website www.gctpea.in

IGNITE: 

Production Engineering Association organizes a State level technical symposium that provides platform to undergraduate students to expertise their knowledge on recent trends in production and industrial engineering every year during the month of September / October. Symposium includes various events like paper presentation, business plan, aero-modelling, water rocketry, RC car racing, general and auto quizzes.

 PRAXIS:

Production Engineering Association organizes a National level technical symposium which gives a lot of exposure and opportunities for students to enhance the technical and managerial skills every year during the month of March / April. It discusses the modernized updates in the industry by organizing guest lectures and seminars by eminent personalities. Various events like paper presentation, project presentation, industrial defined problems (IDP), business plan, aero-modelling, water rocketry, RC car racing, general and auto quizzes are organized. In addition to this, a Bike stunt event by throttlerz is being organized as a part of PRAXIS every year.

SAE GCT COLLEGIATE CLUB:

Most of the students are active members of SAE GCT Collegiate Club and organize national level technical symposium “AUTOVAULT” and various workshops every year. They also conduct Tier events which includes CAD modeling, Aero Modeling, Project Presentation, Auto Quiz, Water rocketry, etc. Few of our students have participated and won first prizes in BAJA, Tractor Design Competition and Second prize in Go-kart event conducted by SAE.

 GREEN CLUB ACTIVITIES & ACHIEVEMENTS:

The green club of Government college of Technology, an initiative by production Department submitted their ideas of Campus sustainability to the International green campus summit and finally won the SUSTAINABLE CAMPUS OF THE YEAR 2013 award from Pondicherry Chief Minister on 4^th April 2013.

A national level symposium PRAKRITI-14 which involve “Zero Paper” event had achieved LIMCA book of Records and Indian Book of Records under the President A.G.Padmanaban of GREEN CLUB, a Production Engineering student.

The office bearers of Green Club have been mostly from the department of Production Engineering.

STUDENT CLUB OF GCT:

Our students are active members of various clubs of GCT.

Tamil Mandram: The President of Tamil Mandram for the academic year of 2014-15 has been from the Department of Production Engineering. The president for the academic year of 2018-19 is from the Department of Production Engineering .The treasurer of the club for the academic year 2019-20 is from Department of Production Engineering.

Orchestra: The Secretary of Orchestra for the academic year of
2013-14 has been from the department of Production Engineering. The Guitarist for the academic year 2018-19 has been from the department of Production Engineering.

Fine Arts: The President of Fine Arts for the academic year of
2013-14 has been from the department of Production Engineering .The General secretary  and treasurer of the club for the academic year 2019-20 is from Department  of Production Engineering.

Eliminators: The Head of Eliminators club for the academic year 2021-22 has been from the department of Production Engineering.

LDS: The office bearers of the LITERARY AND DEBATING SOCIETY for the past seven years have been from the department of Production Engineering.

Rotaract Club: one of the active clubs of GCT has been initiated by the students of Production Engineering Association. The President of the club for the academic years of 2011-12, 2012-13, 2013-14, 2016-17 and 2019-20 has been from the Department of Production Engineering. The Secretary for the academic year of 2018-19 is from the Department of Production Engineering .The treasurer of the club for the academic year 2018-19 has been from the department of Production Engineering. The office bearers of the ROTRACT CLUB for the past ten years have been from the department of Production Engineering.

Y’s Service Club:  The Treasurer of the club for the academic year 2018-19 has been from the Department Production Engineering .The Vice President & Social Media In charge of the club for the academic year 2020-21 has been from Production Engineering . The technical project coordinator/ Head of  Tech Developers Community GCT the club for the academic year 2021-22 has been from Production Engineering .

Student Journalists Council: The Editor and the Managing secretary of the club for the year 2017-18 has been from the Department of Production Engineering. The current Editor and the Managing Secretary for the academic year of 2018-19 is from the Department of Production Engineering.

Sports: The General Captain for sports for the year 2015-16 has been from the Department of Production Engineering. The Cricket team captain for the years 2017-18, 2018-19 has been from the Department of Production Engineering. The Athletics team captain for the year 2018-19 has been from the Department of Production Engineering. The Football team captain for the year 2015-16 has been from the Department of Production Engineering. The table tennis team captain for the year 2015-16 has been from the Department of Production Engineering.

The Ball badminton team captain for the year 2021-22 has been from the Department of Production Engineering. The Table tennis team captain for the 2020-22 has been from the Department of Production Engineering. The basket ball team captain for the academic year2021-22 has been from the Department of Production Engineering.

SOCIAL ACTIVITIES:

Rise of the Nation Charitable Trust (RONCT) is the trust engaged for children welfare and welfare of society organized by Production students without any personal profit and discontinuation. It was started to develop the educational opportunities among the people below poverty and make them realize their potential. Also, social activities like providing motivational class and providing study materials have been regularly done. Later, in the year 2013 "The Rise of Nation" has been into a public charitable trust on 11.01.2013. 

Voter’s Day Campaign:

Our Students actively organized the VOTER’S DAY campaign on January 25, 2014under the commanding power of Coimbatore DISTRICT COLLECTOR “Mrs. Archana Patnaik”. The innovative idea of Wax with White paper was presented by the students of Production Engineering Association.

World Food Day:

World food day 16^th October 2015 saw the active participation of our students. Zero hunger hour was also celebrated between 12.30 p.m. and 1.30 p.m. in which the Coimbatore Corporate Commissioner, Dr. K. Vijay Karthickeyan flagged of the vehicles carrying the donated foods for the poor.

Eye Donation Camp:

Eye donation camp was organized by the students of Production Engineering Association on 5^th April 2014. It was an attempt to achieve Guinness record. More than 3000 pledges have been received from the students and the data have been forwarded to “Siragugal Organization”.

Blood Donation Camp:

Blood donation camp was organized by the students of Production Engineering Association on second week of August 2017, under the guidance of doctor and nurses from Government hospital, Coimbatore. The blood donated was given to the blood bank of the Government hospital, Coimbatore.
