• The  Department of Geotechnical Engineering in the Civil Engineering branch is an active department with faculty members involved both in the academic as well as outside world.
• This department is involved in many consultancy assignments for various Government, quasi government and private organizations.
• The works include design of conventional and machine foundations, Design of pavements, Stability analysis of retaining structures, Ground Improvement Techniques  and Third party consultancy assignments.    
• In the course of the consultancy assignments, the students are actively involved in the projects as a part of field visit which gives them field exposure and practical training.
• The total strength of M.E Programme is 15 Students in the Ist year and 17 Students in IInd  Year. 
• The division provides, undeniably, the best experimental facility through Soil Mechanics Laboratory, Highway Laboratory, Geotechnical Engineering Laboratory, Geo – Environmental Engineering Laboratory, Geology Laboratory and a Computer laboratory
